The name Wooton (Courtenay); is said to mean village by the wood.

THE PARISH CHURCH OF All SAINTS

The church dates from the 13th century. Major alterations and repairs were carried out during the 16th century. During the 19th century further alterations were made and the upper stage of the tower added. The vestry and organ chamber were added at the end of the 19th century. In recent times parishioners have been much involved with restoration of the church, bells and clock.
