THE PARISH CHURCH OF All SAINTS

Evidence suggests that a Church existed on the site of the present church in the 13th century. The church as now seen is the result of developments since that time. The tower which dates from the late fourteenth century or early fifteenth century houses six bells and an ancient clock without an external clock face. Periodically the church is coated with a mixture of lime and tallow to protect the stonework of the building, and this white coating means the beautiful church on the hillside can be seen for many miles around. Set in a village of thatched houses it is arguably one of our most beautiful churches.
