The name Luxborough: is said to mean Lulluc’s Hill.

THE PARISH CHURCH OF ST. MARY
The church appears to date from the 12th century and a link with Cutcombe Church also appears to have been established in that century. The tower with saddleback slate roof has a peal of 5 bells. Considerable restoration work was carried out in the 19th century but some ancient features remain.
