In lordship 1 plough; 2 slaves; 1/2 hide. 8 villagers and 1 smallholder with 21/2 ploughs & 1/2 hide. Meadow, 2 acres; woodland 12 acres; pasture, 50 acres. Value formerly and now40s.

THE PARISH CHURCH OF ST. MARY THE VIRGIN

The present church dates from the 13th and 15th centuries. Dating from the 13th century is the Nave and the base of the tower, with the 15th century additions presenting the building much as seen today. A low Chancel Screen erected in Victorian times contains parts of a much earlier rood screen. The belfry floor can be seen from the base of the tower which has six bells, fve of which were cast in 1759 and the sixth bell was added in1934.
