A mill which pays 30d; meadow, 6 acres; woodland, 20 acres; pasture, 1 league. 1 cob; 8 cattle; 5 pigs; 107 sheep;12 goats. Value when he aquired it, 40s; now£4. This land was (part of the lands) of Glastonbury Church; it could not be seperated from it before 1066.

The name Brompton Ralph: is said to mean farm by the Brendon Hills (held in1245 by Ralph Fitzurse)

THE PARISH CHURCH OF ST. MARY
The church is thought to date from the 14th century, being largely rebuilt in the 18th century.
It was enlarged and refurbished in the 19th century and enjoys a lovely 14th century oak screen which has been restored.
