THE PARISH CHURCH OF ST. ETHELREDA
The present chuch builing was built between 1854 and 1856 to replace a medieval building. It is built of Doulting stone, and part of the nave is supported on marble blocks from Babbacombe. A Norman Font from the old church is used for baptisms and the victorian marble font is outside the church near the west door. Relics from the old church are stored in the crypt. An old restored barrel organ from 1782 has served the church since 1981. Six bells are housed in the tower and the oldest dates from 1440.
